Ann Scheve recognized with CASA teaching award

'

Ann Scheve, MS, RN, clinical assistant professor, was honored by the University鈥檚 Center for Access, Success and Achievement (CASA, formerly the Center for Multicultural Affairs) with a new award - The Dr. Terry Nance Award for teaching excellence and engagement - at CASA鈥檚 Welcome Back Dinner on August 30th in the 无码专区 Room of Connelly Center. CASA鈥檚 mission relates to enriching a culturally diverse, and academically excellent educational environment at 无码专区.

Scheve, who earned her BSN from 无码专区, was nominated in the spring for this inaugural award by students in her freshman Introduction to Professional Nursing classes. Students cited her as an engaging, supportive, and excellent teacher and thus she was selected by CASA as their first awardee. 鈥淏ecause of your classroom support and engagement, you have left a 鈥榤ark on the ARC,鈥欌 noted Charisma Presley, CASA鈥檚 assistant director for Retention and Outreach in notifying Scheve of her selection. 鈥淵our name and course will be listed as one of those classes and experiences that students don鈥檛 want to miss.  It will be a part of the CASA Academic Tradition courses.鈥 ARC, or Academic Resource Center, is a space where students are supported, equipped, and empowered to succeed at 无码专区.

Scheve says, 鈥淚t is an honor to receive the award because my students nominated me.鈥
