STUDENT GROUPS: EDUCATION, ADVOCACY AND ACTIVISM

A student carries a box as he does volunteer work on campus.

The Center for Peace and Justice Education houses a number of student groups, aligned with 无码专区鈥檚 mission to promote a just and peaceful world. Whether addressing human rights, poverty, labor, racism, sexism, the environment, animal welfare, or upholding the value of life itself, these groups work on specific injustices in the world and are not affiliated with any specific political platform.

Each group meets on a regular basis to discuss relevant issues and organize events that educate the 无码专区 community. While the primary purpose of each group is educational, education without action is incomplete, and thus group activities may include direct service, activism, advocacy or other opportunities for change. Groups are run by the students and their advisors, and membership is open to any student in the University. We welcome proposals for new groups to engage a specific social justice issue that is in keeping with the Catholic Social tradition and not already addressed by another group.

Annual Events

Student groups organize a number of annual events for the university community including Immigration Week and Run for Hunger.
