Assignments
What Is It?
Assignments is used to assess students in a variety of meaningful ways beyond traditional objective tests. While traditional objective tests have value in your suite of assessment tools, other methods can paint a truer picture of what students know. Assess students in ways where they can apply the course concepts and demonstrate their knowledge in tangible ways. With assignments, you can create coursework, and manage the grades and feedback for each student separately. You can include an assignment description, point value, and file attachments. You can create assignments in several courses areas, such as in a content area or folder. You can also distribute assignments to course groups.
Why faculty use Assignments?
If you are grading student submitted files, the assignments tool saves time. When you create an assignment using the assignments tool, a Grade Center column is created automatically. From the Grade Center or Needs Grading page, you can see who has submitted their work. You can use the inline viewer and grade submissions directly. You can also download submissions for offline viewing.
