Therefore, upon Dr. Francis P. Garvan, of New York City, has been conferred the Mendel Medal for 1932. Dr. Garvan is well known, today, as the president of the Chemical Foundation of America, which organization, under his guidance, has done much for the furtherance of chemistry.

Began practice in New York City, 1899, assistant district attorney, 1900-1910; director Bureau of Investigation, U.S., and manager New York office of alien property custodian, March 4, 1919; also assistant attorney general of U.S. Dean Fordham Law School 1919-1923; trustee Catholic University.
