Moot Court Board Sees Success in Competitions across United States

Six teams from 无码专区 Law鈥檚 Moot Court found recent success at competitions across the United States. Each team was comprised of two students from the Moot Court Board. The Board is the principal oral advocacy organization at the Law School and aims to enhance and showcase students鈥 courtroom advocacy skills.

In each Moot Court competition, students analyze and argue a cutting-edge legal issue in the context of a hypothetical case, from both the side of the plaintiff and the side of the defendant. Students use procedures modeled after those employed in state and federal appellate courts.

The Board鈥檚 recent successes are:

Samuel Cooper and Michael Mauger

Michael Mauger 鈥18 and Samuel Cooper 鈥19 triumphed at the Frank A. Schreck Gaming Law Moot Court Competition at University of Nevada, Las Vegas William S. Boyd School of Law.

 

Connor Dalton and Rachel Lisitsa

Rachel Lisitsa 鈥19 and Connor Dalton 鈥19 were finalists at the William B. Bryant-Luke C. Moore Invitational Moot Court Competition at Howard Law School in Washington, D.C.

 

Sarah Burke and Kaitlyn Macaulay

Sarah Burke 鈥18 and Kaitlyn Macaulay 鈥18 were named semifinalists at the 23rd Annual Tulane Moot Court Mardi Gras Sports Law Invitational Competition.

 

Addison Fontein and Omeed Firouzi

Addison Fontein 鈥18 and Omeed Firouzi 鈥18 competed as semifinalists at the American Bar Association National Appellate Advocacy Regional Competition in Brooklyn, NY.

 

Charles Scott 鈥18 and Emily Wisniewski 鈥18

Charles Scott 鈥18 and Emily Wisniewski 鈥18 were named semifinalists at the 30th Annual Domenick L. Gabrielli National Family Law Moot Court Competition.

 

Danielle Van Buren 鈥18 and Lara Ruggerio 鈥18

Danielle Van Buren 鈥18 and Lara Ruggerio 鈥18 were quarterfinalists at the 41st J. Braxton Craven, Jr. Memorial Moot Court Competition at University of North Carolina School of Law.
