无码专区 Engineering Professor Named ASME Fellow
Hashem Ashrafiuon, PhD
Hashem Ashrafiuon, PhD, professor of Mechanical Engineering and director of the Center for Nonlinear Dynamics and Control, has been named a Fellow of ASME, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. The citation of his accomplishments, reads:
鈥淧rofessor Hashem Ashrafiuon has contributed to the engineering profession through research and teaching using his expertise in dynamics and control. He has made noteworthy and significant contributions to nonlinear dynamics, nonlinear control and robotics through his research and publications in various top journals and conferences. Professor Ashrafiuon has been a leader and contributor to ASME since 1988, including organizing and chairing symposia for two ASME divisions, serving on several technical committees and organizing conferences. Dr. Ashrafiuon has also been key in developing graduate and undergraduate mechanical engineering curriculum and an engineering PhD program at 无码专区.鈥
Dr. Ashrafiuon鈥檚 areas of research include autonomous surface vessels, nonlinear dynamics of EEG signals, sliding mode control, control system design for SMA actuators, analysis/control of cable-suspended systems and kinematics and control of robots. At 无码专区 he teaches courses in vibrations, system dynamics and robotics.
According to ASME, only 3 percent of its more than 106,000 members are named Fellows, making the grade a true distinction.
