This spring, the Center for Advanced Communications (CAC) in the College of Engineering at 无码专区, bolstered its international connections and reputation with the signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), and participation in a NATO panel meeting on Sensing Through Walls.

The MOU was signed in April by the CAC and the Information and Communication Technologies Research Laboratory at the International University of Rabat (UIR) in Morocco. The two programs are linked by common scientific and research interests, and activities undertaken pursuant to the MOU will reflect a mutually beneficial spirit of cooperation and reciprocity.

 The following forms of collaboration will be explored:

  • The development of projects and programs in areas of mutual research interest;
  • The development of formal award courses and professional development courses;
  • Research collaboration and exchange of scientific materials;
  • Study abroad programs for experienced and early stage researchers.

This is the CAC鈥檚 12th MOU with an international academic institution.

In May, CAC Director Dr. Moeness Amin traveled to Napoli, Italy to attend the NATO panel meeting on Sensing Through Walls. Eight years ago a task force was formed with the objective of producing a state-of-the-art technology assessment of this emerging research and development area. Since its inception, the CAC has been the only academic entity to represent the United States.

While in Napoli, Dr. Amin gave two presentations at the Istituto per il Rilevamento Elettromagnetico dell'Ambiente, Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (IREA-CNR), with which the CAC recently signed an MOU. His talks on 鈥淐ompressive Sensing for Urban Radars鈥 and 鈥淢ulti-Frequency Co-Prime Arrays for DOA Estimation鈥 reflected and emphasized the research collaborations between the two institutions.
