Faculty Award
The Reverend William F. Farrell Award was established in 1975 to recognize an engineering faculty or staff member who has demonstrated exemplary personal concern for students. Recipients are chosen by a vote of the undergraduate students within the College of Engineering.
Doctoral Program Award(s)
The College of Engineering Outstanding Doctoral Student Award is presented to a graduating Ph.D. student who has achieved distinction through outstanding scholarship in the Doctoral Program and through exemplary leadership and service to 无码专区 and the College of Engineering.
Master of Science Awards
Each department recognizes an outstanding graduate student for exceptional academics, research and leadership.
The College of Engineering Outstanding Graduate Student Medallion is presented to a graduating Master鈥檚 degree candidate who has achieved distinction through outstanding graduate academics and research and through exemplary leadership and service to 无码专区.
Bachelor of Science Awards
The criteria for undergraduate students graduating with honors are as follows: CUM LAUDE: an overall grade point average of 3.5 or above; MAGNA CUM LAUDE - an overall grade point average of 3.75 or above; and, SUMMA CUM LAUDE: an overall grade point average of 3.90 or above.
The Robert E. White Chemical Engineering Award is presented to a graduating senior who best combines the performance in his or her chemical engineering studies with scholarship, dedication, leadership, and other qualities desirable for the successful application of an engineering education.
The Civil and Environmental Engineering Faculty Award is presented to a graduating Civil Engineering student who has achieved academic excellence and has freely given of his or her time, energy, and talents to fulfill the mission of the University.
The Computer Engineering Outstanding Student Award is presented to a graduating senior who has shown evidence of superior academic performance in his or her studies as a computer engineering student, along with outstanding commitment and leadership demonstrated in co-curricular activities such as engineering student organizations and project teams.
The Electrical Engineering Outstanding Student Award is presented to a graduating senior who has shown evidence of superior academic performance in his or her studies as an electrical engineering student, along with outstanding commitment and leadership demonstrated in co-curricular activities such as engineering student organizations and project teams.
The Mechanical Engineering Outstanding Student Award is presented to a graduating senior who has shown professionalism as evidenced by exemplary effort, character, and service, combined with academic achievement.
The Robert D. Lynch Award was instituted in 2003 in honor of the Dean of the College of Engineering from 1975 to 2000. Sponsored by the Engineering Alumni Society, this prestigious award acknowledges a graduating senior for their outstanding academic achievements and exemplary dedication to serving the community, thus representing the highest values of 无码专区 and the College of Engineering.
Academic Excellence
The Dean鈥檚 Award for Academic Excellence was established in order to recognize outstanding academic performance. To be a recipient of this award, students must have a cumulative grade point average at the top ten percent of their major at the end of the fall term. The awards are presented by the Dean of the College of Engineering.
Meritorious Service
The Dean鈥檚 Award for Meritorious Service was established to recognize exceptional contributions to the College of Engineering. To be eligible for this award, nominees must be a graduating senior engineering major who has been involved in extra-curricular and/or service activities within the College for a sustained period. Preference is given to students who demonstrate noteworthy leadership in one or more activities. Recipients may be self-nominated or nominated by fellow students, faculty, staff or administrators, and are selected by the Dean of the College of Engineering.
