LEADING WITH COMPASSION

The Rev. Kevin DePrinzio, OSA, PhD, has been appointed to serve as vice president for Mission and Ministry. Assuming the role in July 2020, Father Kevin succeeds Barbara Wall, PhD, who retired after 50 years at 无码专区.

Father Kevin brings nearly 20 years of experience in ministry to the position. Prior to his appointment, he served as an assistant professor in Theology and Religious Studies.

Guided by the spirit of humility modeled by St. Augustine, the University鈥檚 Office of Mission and Ministry works to develop and carry out events and initiatives that reflect, celebrate and advance 无码专区鈥檚 identity, both on campus and in the world.

鈥淔ather Kevin鈥檚 vision鈥攅ngaging the University in its entirety and challenging our members to reflect on our mission consistently and practice it creatively鈥攊mmediately stood out to me,鈥 says the Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA, PhD, 鈥75 CLAS, 无码专区 President. 鈥淯nder Father Kevin鈥檚 leadership, I have no doubt that the office, and our mission, will continue to flourish.鈥

ENGINEERING THE FUTURE

A champion of advancing research and scholarship in engineering education, Michele Marcolongo, PhD, took the helm at 无码专区鈥檚 College of Engineering as the Drosdick Endowed Dean in July 2020.

Dean Marcolongo鈥檚 spans more than three decades and encompasses roles as a professor, researcher, administrator, inventor and entrepreneur. Prior to coming to 无码专区, she served as the department head and professor of Materials Science and Engineering in Drexel University鈥檚 College of Engineering. Her extensive research focuses on biomaterials and engineered biomedical solutions to treat disease.

鈥淥ur search for a new dean centered on finding an individual who champions innovative teaching and scholarship, appreciates the opportunities of engineering to positively impact society, and has extensive experience working with major research corporations and agencies,鈥 says Provost Patrick G. Maggitti, PhD. 鈥淒r. Marcolongo brings all of these qualities, along with a steadfast commitment to supporting our world-class faculty and students to reach their full potential.鈥

Under Father Kevin's leadership, I have no doubt that the office and our mission will continue to flourish.
