John J. Cannon

Biography

John J. Cannon received his JD from 无码专区 in 1962. Upon graduating from law school, he studied at Georgetown University Law Center. He worked as an attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice, Antitrust Division, and later served as a captain in the U.S. Army JAG Corps. Cannon then practiced law in the Philadelphia area for six years before joining the 无码专区 Law faculty in 1971.

Cannon鈥檚 scholarly interests focus on labor and employment law. His articles include several works contemplating the rights, powers and relationships of union and non-union laborers and employers.

In addition to teaching courses on labor and employment law, Cannon taught civil procedure and civil pretrial practice. He also served as a faculty advisor to students participating in externships with the National Labor Relations Board. Cannon served on many university-wide committees such as the faculty senate, priorities committee and the faculty affairs committee. He served as a reporter for the local rules advisory committee of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and is a member of that court's Civil Justice Advisory Group. From December 1999 to March 2002, he served as counsel to the statewide rules committee of the Pennsylvania Judicial Council.
