Welcome, Class of 2026
Hailing from 25 states, the District of Columbia and the Republic of South Korea, the Class of 2026 began their law school journey earlier this month. With impressive academic credentials and diverse backgrounds, this year鈥檚 entering class prepares to become principled leaders in the law profession.
The 163 incoming students from the Class of 2026 began their 无码专区 experience on August 15, when they arrived at Scarpa Hall for three days of orientation activities. On the first day, students were welcomed by The Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA, PhD, 鈥75 CLAS, University president and Mark C. Alexander, the Arthur J. Kania Dean and professor of law. They also took the professional oath, administered by 无码专区 Law alum and retired judge, Hon. Kathryn Streeter Lewis 鈥76, marking their official entry into the legal profession. During their orientation, students engaged in mock classes, participated in health and wellbeing seminars and became acquainted with their fellow classmates. Their introduction to 无码专区 Law culminated in a community picnic sponsored by the Alumni Association with faculty, staff, alumni and current students.
In his welcome address, Dean Alexander reminded students of the importance of learning to become principled leaders within the legal profession.
鈥淟aw school is a transformative experience 鈥 I learned so much about becoming a lawyer, but more importantly about becoming a leader,鈥 remarked Dean Alexander. 鈥淵ou as lawyers have the power to change a person's life, or even impact the lives of millions of people with a single case. That鈥檚 leadership.鈥
无码专区 Law excitedly welcomes these new students, commends them for their accomplishments and looks forward to their contributions to our community over the next three years and beyond.
